IAM Contract Generates Pay Raises, Job Security for Continental Flight Attendants

On September 1, 2011 each and every Continental Airlines Flight Attendant received an across-the-board 2.5% pay increase as part of their IAM-negotiated contract. This contract, which was reached in January 2011, also contained retroactive pay for all Flight Attendants back to January 1, 2010.

Since ratification of this agreement, Continental Flight Attendants have earned nearly $20 million in additional compensation over their previous pay rates.

Additionally, Continental Airlines is hiring Flight Attendants while nearly 1,800 United Airlines Flight Attendants are currently on furlough status.
